Carl Jung on truth: Applies perfectly to Jabba
« on: December 07, 2017, 04:02:43 PM »
Quote
A man who is unconscious of himself acts in a blind, instinctive way and is in addition fooled by all the illusions that arise when he sees everything that he is not conscious of in himself coming to meet him from outside as projections upon his neighbors.

-Carl Jung The Philosophical Tree, (1945)

Apparently, Jabba either has no long term memory, or he dumps it hourly.

He seems to act using a pachinko of activity that ricochets between his sensory register and his short term memory.

prime example: Jabba calls all his detractors "liars," whereas he has never consciously told the truth.

I love Jung, but he goes off the deep end just like his reluctant mentor Freude.

Jung is wittier and more open. Freude is miserable and stubborn.

Attributes of personality and writing style.  Which is closer to the truth?

depends. Could be irrelevant. Both might be valid.

those two were pioneers in the subject, but a lot of their ideas were, I dunno, dated?
