Joe Biden expected to announce 2020 presidential run

https://nypost.com/2019/01/13/joe-biden-expected-to-announce-2020-presidential-run/

So, for those of you keeping score, the field in 2020 looks something like:

DEMOCRATS

1. Joe Biden, former VP, U.S. Senator from DE
2. Elizabeth Warren, U.S. Senator from MA
3. Bernie Sanders, U.S. Senator from VT, unsuccessful bid for president
4. Kamala Harris, U.S. Senator from CA
5. Michael Avenatti, media personality, porn star lawyer
6. Tulsi Gabbard, House Rep. from HI
7. Julian Castro, former HUD secretary, mayor of San Antonio
8. Cory Booker, U.S. Senator from NJ, former mayor of Newark
9. Kirsten Gillebrand, U.S. Senator from NY, former House Rep. in NY
10. Terry McAuliffe, former governor from VA, former DNC chairman
11. Richard Ojeda, WV state senator, unsuccessful bid for House Rep. in WV, US Army MAJ (Ret.)
12. Jay Inslee, governor of WA, former House Rep. in WA
13. John Delaney, former House Rep. from MD
14. Beto O'Rourke, unsuccessful bid for U.S. Senator from TX, former House Rep. in TX
15. Marianne Williamson, unsuccessful bid for House Rep. in CA

While those are the likely or announced candidates, there may be several others announcing exploratory committees or their campaigns in the next few months.

Looks like the GOP list from 2016. Personally I'm pulling for Beto.

Too soon.  This Congress needs to get some work done, first.  Repeal some laws!!!

Of the three "headliners", I'm guessing the smoke-filled room picks Biden.  His resume is the best, though he's not enough of a fighter to knock out all of his competitors (plus Trump) without taking a negative hit.  Warren unfortunately looks very weak and disorganized, if her DNA test revelation was any indication.  And then there's Bernie, who has already been stabbed in the back by the Democratic Party once.

Honestly, the most revolutionary, Bill Clinton / Barack Obama newcomer type, is probably Kamala Harris.  She's not as strong within the party, but she's aggressive enough to take on primary challenges and embodies a lot of the "diversity" labels that the Democrats think are key to the electorate's support.

Anything's possible, given the amount of time in the run up to November 2020.  It looks like a nasty primary fight, regardless.

I think at least one name on the list provided here has already decided not to run.

There will be a bunch, though.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Swalwell at least consider throwing his name in the ring.

My brother in law wants Harris with Beto as veep.

I think Biden has a better chance because he has Obama stank on him still.

I like a lot of Bernie's ideas, but none of them strike me as a perfect candidate.  Harris is the closest.

The Beto thing was always a pipe dream.  He's not going to motivate enough voters to swing Texas, which would be the primary goal for someone like him.

I would vote for anyone on that present list, with the exception of Avenatti, who's always been wishy-washy about his presidential aspirations anyway (he probably set up his PAC, simply as a slush fund for himself).  Probably a good thing, since there's no viable Libertarian candidate this time out.  Though if Hillary Clinton re-enters, then the dynamic changes- I still wouldn't vote for her.

Probably a good thing, since there's no viable Libertarian candidate this time out.

There is still Bill Weld (he has some support within the Libertarian Party) and Larry Sharpe.  However, the LP may blow up by then.  The infighting is ferocious.

The LP is also foregoing their old strategy of national seats only and seem to be pushing local seats more.  My own interest so far is in Nicholas Sarwark, current chairman of the Libertarian Party National Committee.

I'd vote for Weld in a heartbeat.

Sharpe's said no for now, and Weld hasn't been on the radar.  I could vote for Weld.  To be fair though, there are one or two Democrats on that list I might vote for over him though.

Probably a wise bet.  Even a national shame like Hillary vs. Trump isn't enough to get 4% for a viable 3rd option.  Hopefully enough LP candidates fly under the radar long enough for the two asshole parties to not throw money at those races and win some seats somewhere.

I'm actually thinking that Jabba won't leave the White House peacefully, and that the Constitution isn't worth the paper (parchment?) it was written upon.

Yes.  Did you ever state that someone might shoot or kill Obama ?

Do you understand that this is a fantasy scenario that every opposition has imagined will happen with virtually every president in history ?  It certainly gets said about Democrats:
